It's been a while since my last blog after a crazy start to the year, but here I am with a fantastic new treatment I discovered, which I have to say, I was thrilled with.
I visited the clinic of world-renowned cosmetic surgeon and skin genius, Dr Angelica Kavouni, at her practice in Harley St. With the Cannes Film Festival around the corner, I wanted to get my skin in tip-top condition without having anything surgical or invasive.
My skin is pretty good generally, mainly owing to my vegan diet, but living in Central London, it takes a fair amount of battering on a daily basis.
Dr Kavouni listened to my concerns and suggested the Obagi Radiance peel might be a perfect antidote and never having had a peel before, I was excited but slightly nervous, too. I needn't have been though, as I was in such expert hands, and Dr Kavouni is as lovely as she is highly skilled.
The entire treatment took less than twenty minutes, and there was absolutely no discomfort, barely even a tingle, and I left the clinic with skin so glowy I felt thirteen again, almost!
The process involves applying a layer of salicylic acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and a unique blue paste, customised to your skin type, which gently but effectively sloughs away the superficial skin layers to reveal a clearer, brighter and more uniform complexion. Best of all though, is that it continues working its alchemy over the following seven days, so while the effect is an immediate tightening and plumping, it continues to improve over the course of a week.
I was advised to expect some mild peeling after the treatment, but it's day two, and so far there hasn't been any, just better, more luminous skin. It's so lovely to walk around with a bare face and feel confident, with a lit from within, filter effect glow.
I just loved the treatment, and most of all the entire Obagi range is cruelty-free and vegan. I will definitely be back for more!
Thanks, Dr Kavouni!
